Paracetamol is not recommended for cardiac chest pain
Question and answer: A query has been raised as to why paracetamol is not recommended for cardiac chest pain. We have not found any evidence that paracetamol is beneficial in cardiac chest pain. The decision to not recommend it for cardiac chest pain is based on expert opinion from cardiologists. Additionally, paracetamol is not indicated in the NICE guideline: Chest pain of recent onset. We know that morphine has vasodilatory effects that should be beneficial to cardiac chest pain. We will review this if we become aware of any new evidence.
