Question and answer: Q&A: A query was been raised as to why paracetamol is not recommended for cardiac chest pain. Previously, we have not found any evidence that paracetamol is beneficial in cardiac chest pain however this is currently under review. The decision to not recommend it for cardiac chest pain is based on expert opinion from cardiologists. Additionally, paracetamol is not indicated in the NICE guideline: Chest pain of recent onset. We know that morphine has vasodilatory effects that should be beneficial to cardiac chest pain.
