Amiodarone: second dose levels for children, p63
Issue: | Revision concerning second dosage levels for children in a VF/VT arrest |
---|---|
Resolution: | As part of the continuous update process for the UK Ambulance Services Clinical Guidelines a minor amendment was made in version 1.3 to highlight that children in a VF/VT arrest should receive a second dose of amiodarone. However, the text on page 63 in version 1.3 contains an error. It states that the second dose of amiodarone should be halved in children but that is not the case and it has been corrected to read: "Give adrenaline after every other shock (i.e. every 3–5 minutes) and a second dose of amiodarone following the 5th shock (refer to amiodarone guideline for further information) until ROSC." All the amiodarone dosage tables within the page for age section remain unaffected by this and are correct. |
