Issue:

Further clarification. Advice listed states "do not wrap patients in foil blankets". ERC Guidelines for re-warming state; "[rewarming] is best achieved by full body insulation with wool blankets, aluminium foil, cap and warm environment." The JRCALC guidance goes on to say that wrapping in foil blankets will insulate the patient will insulate them and keep them cold - While a few lines above it states "preventing further heat loss will enable the patient to warm up by their own metabolism" This is therefore contradictory. I believe the confusion may be because it is advised to NOT put foil blankets directly onto the skin as they then cause conduction of heat away from the patient. However, wrapping a patient in a wool blanket with a foil blanket over the top allows the foil to work as intended to reflect radiated heat back to the patient
