Deborah Bullock  MBA, Msc, NEBOSH, SrPara

Having more than 39 years with the NHS, in acute and ambulance sectors, she has led at trust and national level in clinical quality and safety. A registered Paramedic and a motivated professional, she has a broad range of skills across healthcare and the ambulance setting.

Deborah has been the National Ambulance IPC and Patient Safety Advisor for the last three years providing support and advice to the ambulance sector and wider NHS in relation to IPC and the national response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Deborah commenced her career in nursing in 1984 and moved over to Cumbria Ambulance Service in 1992.  With over 30 years experience in the ambulance sector she has had a variety of roles including clinical standards and training, clinical governance and risk, strategic commander and safeguarding, and was the Deputy Director of Quality prior to moving across to AACE. She specialises in all aspects of clinical safety and in particular infection prevention and control.

She has chaired the National Ambulance Service IPC group and the National Ambulance Patient Safety Group and leads the national team in the creation of the ambulance sector IPC guidance and Patient Safety guidance, and supports ambulance trusts in adopting a consistent approach in implementing evidence based guidance on IPC and patient safety, including learning from serious adverse incidents in collaboration with the wider NHS and Public Health teams across the UK.
