A sector-wide approach to accelerating female progression into operational leadership

Session Information

The ambulance service employs more women than ever before but this progress stalls at the point of operational leadership.

A national piece of work provides an opportunity to take a system level view of these issues, enabling consistent data collection, comparative analysis, and the identification of shared challenges and good practice.

This approach aligns with the NHS commitment to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion – recognising that improving leadership diversity is not solely an equality, diversity and inclusion objective – but a core enabler of workforce sustainability, operational effectiveness, and high quality patient care.
