ALF: Leading the future of UK ambulance services
We’ll be releasing more details about ALF2027 in due course, to be held in Newcastle, 16-17 March 2027. If you’re interested in partnering, sponsoring or exhibiting, contact us early at alf@aace.org.uk

The Ambulance Leadership Forum (ALF) is the UK’s flagship annual event for senior leaders across the NHS ambulance sector, hosted by the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE).
In a sold-out conference, ALF2026 again provided the opportunity to connect directly with the sector’s most influential decision-makers, gain insight into national priorities, and explore how ambulance services are evolving to meet today’s challenges.
This year’s theme: Sustainability
We explored what sustainability really means for ambulance services – from environmental responsibility to financial resilience and lasting cultural change, and shared bold ideas and practical strategies as part of our sector-wide collaboration.
Headline speakers included:
- Professor Sir Chris Whitty KCB, Chief Medical Officer, DHSC
- Lord Adebowale CBE, Chair, NHS Confederation
- Rt Hon Karin Smyth MP, Minister for Health, DHSC
- Jason Killens KAM, LAS CEO and Chair of AACE
- Conference Chair: Saffron Cordery, formerly Deputy CEO, NHS Providers
