Daren Mochrie QAM

CEO North West Ambulance Service & Chair AACE

Daren is the Chief Executive Officer of the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust and the Chair of the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE)

With over 33 years’ experience in the NHS, 30 years in the Ambulance sector, Daren is a registered Paramedic, holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Napier University, Edinburgh and a Diploma in Immediate Medical Care from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Over the years he has led and managed major transformational change in the ambulance sector in both urban and rural settings such as rolling out of new clinical response standards, control room reconfiguration, establishment of Special Operations, and the re procurement of fixed wing and rotary services. He was instrumental in establishing and rolling out a National land and air Specialist Transport & Retrieval service across Scotland. He has also led and managed large scale public events and incidents at operational, tactical and strategic command levels.

Daren was awarded the Queens Ambulance Medal in the Queen’s Birthday honour’s 2013 for distinguished service.
