Mike is a Clinical Academic focusing on Emergency, urgent integrated, Unscheduled and Digital Care.
A Consultant Paramedic by background, he has been a Lecturer in Emergency & Unscheduled Care, a Researcher, an academic author, and a Clinical Leader to allied health professionals within 999 and 111 clinical hubs.
He has predominantly worked within ambulance service & 111 clinical hubs, specifically focusing on telephone triage & consultation, and has overseen and directly coordinated various large scale programmes.
He is currently the Consultant Clinician for NHS 111 Wales; a role which involves leading, influencing and the setting of clinical direction for remote clinical decision making and triage for the organisation. It involves interpreting national policy and new legislation, understanding its impact on the organisation and the profession, and influencing how it is implemented within the NHS 111 Wales.
