Adams career commenced as a CFR in 2005 and after registering as a paramedic in 2008 he has progressed across several ambulance services in England. He transferred into academia supporting the development of future leaders in healthcare and was promoted to Associate Dean, before commencing in a newly created role as Head of Education Commissioning for the NHS in England. During this time Adam led on national education policy with government and supported the development of the paramedic profession nationally.

Last year he joined Yorkshire Ambulance Service as System Partnership Director and has led on the integration of the ambulance service into the Integrated Care System across South Yorkshire. Adam is still a practicing paramedic with Yorkshire Ambulance and undertakes clinical duties in an emergency department.

In addition to his NHS roles, Adam is the Chair of the British Standards Institute Committee on Healthcare Management and has led the global introduction of a new healthcare quality management standard for the International Organisation on Standardisation (ISO).

He is the Chair of a National Charity, Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and has been conferred as a Visiting Professor at three universities in England.
