The Ambulance Sector, Aspiring Operations Director programme was initiated in 2012 by the Association of Ambulance Service Chief Executives (AACE), National Directors of Operations Group (NDOG) and HR Directors group. The programme is supported by the NHS Leadership Academy who provided financial assistance for the pilot, and later the full programme.
18 participants commenced the programme. All were working at mid to senior level, typically in Associate Director/General Manager roles, plus two participants in clinical roles. After a great deal of hard work and commitment, all 18 participants completed the programme, and were awarded their certificates at the AACE board meeting last night (22 May 2014).
Appropriately, they were recognised in front of AACE Chair Dr Anthony Marsh, as well as guest of honour Peter Bradley, former AACE chair and now Chief Executive of St John Ambulance New Zealand.
