National Ambulance Volunteering Strategy

Our Volunteering Strategy

Volunteering Strategy 250326 Phase 3 The first National Ambulance Volunteering Strategy demonstrated our commitment to supporting and enhancing volunteering opportunities in the ambulance sector and healthcare more widely.

With phase 1 initially launched in January 2023, we published phase 2 in September 2024, and phase 3 in April 2026.

Phase 3 builds on the considerable progress made through the previous two phases. It forms the basis for national collaboration between ambulance services and aims to prepare ambulance volunteering for the evolving needs of our communities, patients, and services.

We continue to monitor delivery of this strategy and will update it accordingly, to reflect our long-term commitment to maximising the contribution of volunteering for health.
