Limb trauma
| Description: | Administer prophylactic intravenous antibiotic co-amoxiclav (in line with local guidance) as soon as possible and preferably within 1 hour of injury to patients with open fractures, without delaying transport to hospital. For patients that are allergic to penicillin, where no alternative antibiotic is available, convey to hospital and inform ED on arrival so that an antibiotic can be administered as soon as possible. |
