The creation of a new 10-Year Health Plan for England has provided a timely opportunity for the ambulance sector to submit its ideas and help shape the future of the NHS.

AACE has provided comprehensive input to the Change NHS consultation on behalf of all member ambulance services.

The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Wes Streeting launched the extensive Change NHS engagement process in October 2024 to gather input for the creation of a new 10-Year Health Plan for the NHS.

Until spring 2025, it remains open to members of the public, NHS and social care staff as well as a wide range of relevant organisations and was welcomed by AACE on its launch.

You can read the full submission from AACE on behalf of the NHS ambulance sector which was based on responses from people working across each of our English member trusts.

Anna Parry, AACE Managing Director, said:

Anna ParryWorking for a service that is literally on the front line of healthcare, ambulance people see and experience all aspects of the health and social care system, both good and bad.

They are therefore perfectly positioned to provide their thoughts and ideas about what could be done better and how. We are all users of the NHS, so it is crucial that our voices are heard.

AACE continues to liaise with NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care to optimise and develop the role of the ambulance sector over the next ten years.

At the same time, the organisation continues to work closely with colleagues in the College of Paramedics, the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, the National Primary Care Network and leaders across other areas of urgent and emergency care to develop and offer sustainable solutions to the significant challenges faced by the health and social care system.
