To mark International Women’s Day on Sunday 8 March 2015, Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust has profiled some of the inspirational women it has working in different roles across the organisation.
Making up almost half of the Trust’s 4,600-strong workforce, many women work on the frontline including paramedics, non-emergency Patient Transport Service staff, emergency call handlers and NHS 111 clinical advisors. In addition, there are many female staff in support departments including Information Technology, Fleet and Patient Relations.
Each person profiled describes the achievements and challenges of their career and the skills and lessons that they have learned along the way. They reflect on their experiences as women in the workforce and how this has changed over time.
