AACE welcomes publication of Acute Behavioural Disturbance consensus statement

CADBUK front cover

The Association of Ambulance Chief Executives welcome the publication of the consensus statement related to what is currently termed Acute Behavioural Disturbance.

The statement provides a platform on which to build multi-agency collaboration in the development of a common understanding of the recognition of the broad spectrum of presentation of agitation, and the place of each agency in its management, including the differing challenges faced by each agency due to varied settings in which patients present.

We commit to the review of the current ambulance clinical practice guidelines (the JRCALC guidelines) to reflect the consensus position, and will encourage individual ambulance services to work with other agencies in their localities to develop common understanding in frontline operational teams.
