Ambulance Services Charity announces acquisition of first National Headquarters

A statement from Cliff Randall, Chairman, TASC (The Ambulance Services Charity)

As Chairman of the Ambulance Services Charity I am delighted to announce the acquisition of the charity’s first National Headquarters in Coventry, West Midlands on Friday 7th November 2014. This is a significant moment for TASC which will take forward the valuable work undertaken by the ASBF since it was formed in 1986.

The new headquarters will enable TASC (formerly the ASBF) to expand the range of support and other services offered, through the recruitment of a small team led by Lorna Birse-Stewart, our Charity Director.

TASC is in a unique position to fully understand the emotional and physical demands placed on ambulance services staff and their families and aims to be both relevant in the help and support it offers and in the way the charity delivers the support that ambulance services staff and their families need and deserve. The charity will also work collaboratively with other organisations, providers and emergency services to ensure the provision of co-ordinated and appropriate help and advice for ambulance services personnel and their families following illness, injury, bereavement or in other circumstances where there is a need for support.

The charity therefore plans, from early 2015, and with support from the Government Libor-funding initiative for the emergency services, to deliver a TASC “Pathways” service through our new team at TASC HQ and a designated 0800 telephone line. The TASC Telephone “Lifeline” will provide access to timely, confidential and personal support and advice on a range of support services including: Rehabilitation, Bereavement Counselling, Debt Advice, Mental Health Services and Grants.

For more details and information about TASC please contact either myself or                     Lorna Birse-Stewart, TASC Director at enquiries@asbf.co.uk or Director@asbf.co.uk or on 0800 103 999.

TASC will also be attending the 2014 Ambulance Leadership Forum, where they will be exhibiting and explaining more about the work they do.
