NHS Confederation calls for swift action to tackle burden of bureaucracy

Reduce the bureaucratic burden on the NHS to help organisations focus on securing the best patient care, urges the NHS Confederation today as it calls for swift Government action to tackle the burden of bureaucracy.

 Unless the bureaucratic burden on NHS organisations is reduced, there is a risk that frontline staff’s time will be diverted from patient care to form filling and box ticking, warns the NHS Confederation today (23 January). The organisation is calling on the Department of Health and arms length bodies (ALBs) to take action to tackle the issue, following a review of progress made to reduce bureaucracy in the health service, published today.
