NHS England – A Call to Action: Transformative ideas for the future NHS (Report)

future-sum-rpt_On 21 November 2013, the three national partners (NHS England, Monitor and the NTDA) hosted the NHS Futures summit.

The summit was designed to spark debate about how the landscape of health and care providers could evolve over the next decade to better meet the challenges outlined in the Call to Action.

Over 100 senior health leaders took part including commissioners, providers (including GPs), health policy experts, and patients and charity representatives.

A report has now been jointly produced by the three national partners which summarises the ideas discussed at the summit.  It is also intended to assist commissioners, providers and their local partners, as they look forward to the next five years and outlines potentially transformative options that local health economies may wish to consider.

Information gathered at the Summit and covered by the report will also be used to inform national action that maybe required to remove any obstacles to change and support the transformation of the NHS.

The report is available to read here.
