We believe the time has come to invest in safe skill practice. This context driven training drives everyone to focus on the situation at hand and develop skills to manage the situation as a team to achieve the best clinical outcome for the patient. The training develops everyone to the same skill level to fit the environment – professional discipline, job role and banding. The centre does not dictate the level of skill or initiate it’s not my role thinking – the training enables all that participate to work together to get the best from the situation at hand. The philosophy is simple – it is everyone’s responsibility, the team are more effective together. This environment creates safe practice – where students and healthcare professionals alike no longer practice ill prepared on real people, and core standards can be embedded to train in an environment where the consultant is no different to the student.

Our Pledge
The Emergency Services Training Centre pledges to support the facilitation of safe skill practice – that combines Inter Professional Learning (IPL) and simulated learning to enhance practical skill competences for healthcare professionals and healthcare learners alike. We wish to promote an integrated workforce, where it’s everyone’s role to improve patient outcomes and safety.
