The organisers of the UK Emergency Services Games (UKESG) today announce the postponement of the staging of the Games which had been due to take place in August and September 2020. The plan is now for the inaugural Games to launch in September 2021.
This is hugely disappointing for all those who have been working not only to make this concept a reality but also to begin the important work of raising funds to support Emergency Services mental health.
Clearly, the current situation is unprecedented as the country grapples with a global pandemic of COVID-19 and public health is now the number one priority. UKESG also have to be mindful that Emergency Services personnel will be at the forefront of the efforts to contain this virus and that the Games are an unnecessary distraction at this time.
The Games management will now begin the process of refunding the registration and entry fees. Every entrant will be contacted directly via the email address provided for registration in order to confirm and activate the refund process. In view of the exceptional circumstances, please allow 30 days for this refund to be completed.
Planning now begins for the 2021 Games and regular updates will be provided through our website and social media. UKESG remain totally committed to the goal of raising funds to support the treatment of mental health issues across all the Emergency Services.
In these exceptional times, UKESG hope you stay fit and stay well and, as always, continue to support one another and the communities that you serve so selflessly.
