The tenth ALF Conference – May 22 & 23, 2012

Final details are now coming together for our TENTH ALF Conference, and this year we will be at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Warwickshire on May 22/23rd .

Following on from a successful conference as part of AMBITION 2011 in Telford, the Midlands has again been selected as a convenient location for both ease of travel, quality of venue and value for money. Ambulance Trust CEOs will be inviting their senior teams to join their Service Chairs, Key DH officials and some key stakeholders to make this conference the best yet.

We commence the ALF as usual with a gala dinner (for Trust delegates) and we will take this opportunity to recognise ‘outstanding service’ by making a number of awards to some very deserving recipients. This is of course an excellent opportunity for colleagues to network and catch up with their peer groups from around the country and beyond.

We are delighted to have secured first class speakers again this year with national and international reputations, with both the Minister of State for Health Simon Burns and the CEO of the NHS, Sir David Nicholson having accepted our invitation to address the conference.

Conference themes reflect some of the key national strategic issues facing Ambulance Services – the move to clinical outcome indicators, operating in an FT environment as well as learning from private providers in the NHS and international context

Back again this year will be the ‘Market Stalls’ item (first featured in 2008) and five ambulance Trusts have volunteered to showcase an area of best/transferable  practice. Topics to share include the provision of 111 Services and the Monitoring and Management of Hospital Handovers. Delegates will be allowed 15 minutes at each Market Stall so expect the presentations to be fast paced and focused!

We look forward to announcing some key sponsors in the next few weeks which will help us keep the costs down whilst continuing to bring to the Ambulance Leadership Forum a first class programme – available here.
