It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our colleague Jamil Ahmed, who passed away on Monday 8 February with Covid-19.
Jamil was 82 years old and was part of our Non-Emergency Transport Service (NETS) team, based at Bermondsey, but more recently had been undertaking a role in our Logistics team during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Jamil, often known as Jim to colleagues, had worked for London Ambulance Service for almost three decades, and would have celebrated his 30th anniversary working for the Service in the autumn, having joined in September 1991.
Jamil worked out of a number of ambulance stations during his long career with the Service: including Camden and Homerton ambulance stations – where colleagues knew him as a very pleasant, well-liked and respected member of the team who wasn’t afraid to get stuck in when the going was tough.
