Ensuring equity in clinical care for BME communities
We are aware that more needs to be done to ensure that BME communities and patients receive equitable care provision. The AACE medical directors group and the national ambulance diversity forum are progressing this piece of work, specifically looking at BME clinical presentations.
This Zoom session – to be held on Tues 8th Sept from 10.00 to 11.30 am – will focus on the inequity that is currently experienced and witnessed across the NHS and within the ambulance sector specifically, how we can do better and in what ways. During the session, we hope to enhance knowledge and understanding whilst also imparting some practical learning.
We would very much welcome ambulance service clinicians but also anyone else from the sector who wants to know more about this issue.
Facilitators
The session will be facilitated by Sharifa Hashem, South Western Ambulance Service / National Ambulance BME Forum, and Ian Baines, Transformation Consultant at NHS Horizons.
