New AACE chair busy meeting stakeholders to raise ambulance profile

Daren Mochrie, chief executive of NWAS, attended his first meeting of the Council of Association of Ambulance Chief Executives as its new chair since starting his appointment in August.

At the online meeting last week – consisting of chief executives and chairs of ambulance trusts across the country – he said:

I was delighted to be elected AACE chair by my ambulance service chief executive colleagues in summer 2020.

I have worked in the NHS for over 32 years, 29 of which have been in the ambulance sector, and am immensely proud to have been given the opportunity to serve as AACE chair for the coming three years.

He told the AACE Council that as the new chair, he has had a considerable number of meetings with external stakeholders such as College of Paramedics, the CQC, NHS England, Health Education England and NHS Providers.
