ESCWG publishes new document on collaboration between the Emergency Services

The Emergency Services Collaboration Working Group (ESCWG) is a sector-led and government-backed group which was formed in 2014, with support from the Home Office, Department of Health and Department for Communities and Local Government.

As a result of the Policing and Crime Act 2017, the police, fire and rescue and emergency ambulance services now have a Duty to Collaborate. This provides a tangible legal framework to increase the scope of collaborative work and keep our communities safer.

The ESCWG recently published a new document about the Duty to Collaborate, giving information and support to the emergency services involved.

The information in the document is intended to assist and support the emergency services sector to better understand the benefits of collaboration and the legislative framework that now exists to support it.

You can download a PDF version of the document here, or view the online version below.
