Spotlight on AACE’s Anti-Racism promises: December

In December we are shining a spotlight on the inclusive uniform offer AACE has developed as part of our anti-racism promises.

During 2020 staff were surveyed about ambulance uniforms via individual trusts and through social media. All responses were reviewed and an inclusive uniform offer developed which promotes inclusion for all staff.

In the early part of 2022, trusts will collectively be going out to tender for a supplier for the range of uniform items agreed and these will be available for staff and volunteers to order from Spring 2022.

The ambulance sector will continue to learn and gain feedback from colleagues to ensure that the uniform available to employees and volunteers is inclusive.

Many thanks to Kirsten Willis-Drewett and Sharifa Hashem for leading this important work.

Here’s more information about the findings of the survey and the plans for uniform items.

We’ll continue to post our Spotlight updates each month in our website’s News section and via Twitter at @AACE_Org.
