Porters

Volunteer porters meet our patient transport crews and volunteers at hospital locations and convey patients from vehicles to their appointments or clinics, returning them afterwards.

Being a volunteer porter is an excellent way to meet new people, gain experience of working within an ambulance and NHS environment and help to put people at ease during what can be an anxious and stressful time.

If you’re interested in volunteering, you’ll need to be over the age of 18. All our patient facing volunteer roles are subject to a disclosure and barring service (DBS) check.
