Making a difference: The London Ambulance Service Deaf Awareness Forum

LAS logoThe London Ambulance Service (LAS) has a number of staff forums that represent a variety of groups as part of the quality and diversity agenda. One of these is the LAS Deaf Awareness Forum (DAF).

Established in 2010, the DAF has made a real difference in London Ambulance’s work with the deaf community, evidenced by the response from their users and also the results of a survey that LAS undertook of all the Ambulance Trusts in England, which clearly demonstrated the proactivity and innovation of the DAF.

A leaflet is available which explains the LAS approach in a little more detail – download it here.

Should you require further information on this matter, contact the DAF Chairman Mark Weller.
